今年で３回目となるシンガポール国立大学(NUS)の生徒とのワークショップ！

今回も、NUS教授のチン先生の専門である「公共交通」について考えます。

■グループディスカッショントピック

（当日は８つのグループに分かれてディスカッションを行います。以下より２つ興味のあるトピックをお選びください。グループは当日発表致します。）

 

 

1.       Transport Sustainability

What are the current policies in Japan and Singapore to promote sustainable transportation? What can we do to make our transportation system more sustainable?

 

2.       Transportation for the elderly 

What are the existing provisions to meet the transportation needs of the elderly? What will be the transportation challenges faced by the aging population in the next decade?

 

3.       Car ownership and usage

  What are the different controls of vehicle ownership and usage in Singapore and Japan? Are these transferable to other cities, particularly those in the developing countries?

 

4.       Political influence in Transportation 

How do the different political systems in Singapore and Japan affect the planning and design of transportation systems in the two countries? Will there be changes in the political influence on transportation in the next decade?

 

5.       Transportation Security

 What are some recent security problems in the transportation system in Singapore and Japan? What are some possible future threats?

 

6.       Transportation Technology

Can technology solve all the problems in Transportation? Has the deployment of technology in transportation also created new problems to society?

 

7.       Transportation and social equity

Has the transportation development in Singapore and Japan brought about a more equitable society? What are the potential flash points if the transportation system is not properly managed?

 

8.       Environmental and Health Impact of Transportation 

What are the environmental and health issues related to transportation? How have Japan and Singapore addressed these issues?

 

9.       Transportation and the media 

How have the main stream and new media presented transportation in Singapore and Japan? Will the new media pose a serious challenge to the public transport operators?
